The people of Casino and the Richmond Valley offer a warm welcome to visitors, whether you are looking for an energy packed holiday or perhaps some peaceful sightseeing.

richmond riverYou will be pleasantly surprised by the rolling hinterland with views of World Heritage listed national parks to the glorious Pacific Ocean. Casino lies midway between the mountains and the sea where the famous Beef Week celebrations are held yearly. Throughout the valley there are activities for everyone – flying, festivals, bush walking, horse riding and farm holidays just to name a few.

Picnic spots and weirs are a draw card for the town on the Richmond River with plentiful river bank walks and heritage walks.  Beneath the Irving Bridge in the Platypus Pool you may get a glimpse of one of these rare creatures.

The Jabiru Geneebeinga Wetlands, near the golf course is a sanctuary for native birds and wildlife. They provide a mini railway which operates on Sundays for optimum viewing of the wetlands.

Casino Folk Museum in Walker Street holds many Aboriginal artifacts and relics from pioneering days as well as photographs of early Casino.

Other places of interest are Banyabba Pine Forest and Mallanganee National Park on the Bruxner Highway.  Casino is a short drive to beautiful beaches that offer perfect conditions for surfing and fishing.  Casino is also central to many rainforest national parks, including World Heritage listed Border Ranges National Park and Nightcap Forest.
